MONDAY MELLOW MADNESS....

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!

Here is a glimpse at mine....

I had my nails done on Friday afternoon.  In defiance of winter I went for a violent red
colour!!!

And then.......

Well there is nothing to glimpse at because this weekend did not go according to plan.

We had a very bad night on Friday with my dad having to sit up most of the night because he could not breath.  I eventually forced him to go to the emergency room on Saturday morning. 

Dad was admitted into the cardiac ICU with 14% heart function. His heart rate was elevated which made the heart work even harder with no resting beats so the doctor started by giving meds to bring his heart rate down and then started dad on a solution which includes a diuretic to help get rid of the fluid.

Dad is still in ICU but is doing much better.  His heart rate has come down nicely and his input and output of fluids are working showing marked improvement which means that he is breathing better. He was a little groggy this morning because the nurse woke him up at 23:00 last night to.....wait for it....give him a sleeping pill!!!!

Last night he had a whole bunch of visitors from church which was really wonderful but at the same time tiring for him especially as talking leaves him breathless. But he so enjoyed all the attention and being surrounded by his Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

Today the cardiologist will run more tests and hopefully he will then be able to put a plan of action into place.

 In other news my little boy-o Gidion was admitted to hospital this morning with pneumonia. 

The two hospitals are on opposite ends of town so the next couple of days are going to be interesting. 

Prayers for both my dad and for Gidion would be greatly appreciated.
